Review: Highly effective - I’m using this for residential crypto mining with an 8 inch S8 fan. It is crazy loud, but still quieter than the fans on the mining ASIC. Before buying this, it was just too loud to run at night, costing me income. The fan needs to be at least on level 8 during the day to cool the hash boards, and that is really loud in a residential area. For grow tents, you probably won’t need to run it at level 8 unless you need a jet intake in your tent for some reason. This is perfect. It is so effective that I can run the fan at 7, maybe 8, even at night. It also doesn’t restrict the air flow much at all, and temperatures are not affected. I have an 8 inch duct filter on the end, and it’s even more quiet. AC Infinity sells 8 inch silencer clamps which is a tube of thick rubber and a clamp at each end. This cuts down on sound and they make your setup look really clean. Another clamp was needed for my filter, just fyi. They are not the most secure things though, especially because the fan shrouds are plastic and flex a bit. Note: if you really want this in silver, you may need to request it. Mine came in black, but still looks great.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: does this get installed before the fane for after the Fan and how far?**
A: I've installed one before and one after - directly on the fan.  I ultimately returned the one before the fan because the improvement was relatively minor.

**Q: Can you connect these mufflers in series? And what impact does that have?  e.g. one reduces 50% two reduces 75% ... and so forth?**
A: I don’t think they can be used end to end but you can put one on either side of the fan and that should reduce the sound.... or if you’d like you can put one directly against the fan and then add another one at the end of a duct as well. I can’t give you any specific numbers though.

**Q: Can I simple insert this silencer (not fan) before my output in my home music studio?**
A: The openings on each side is 4" in diameter. 
I'm not sure exactly what your affixing this to but if it's similar to any duct opening you'll need a clamp or coupler. Hope this helps!

**Q: Will this work on a radon fan system?**
A: i dont know about a radon but ive used a hyperfan and it fits perfect. ive also used one of those cheap vivosun ones with the red fan blades and it is about a quarter inch smaller than the flange on th muffler. it does work well though.
