It's solid, has some weight to it and has a non slip base. I will say that to rotate it would be easier to move the stand than to rotate on the "ball and socket" as it is fairly stiff. I would also remove the show prior to moving it up and down for the same reason. I suspect that is so the weight of the show doesn't move it. I have not received my Echo view 8 yet so I can't say how the fit will be. I was kinda hoping it was shiny.Ball joint that holds the echo up was initially unmovable and had to be forced. I fixed that with some silicon shock oil in the joint. Now it's still sturdy, but moves much more easily when I need to adjust it.Having the show raised off of the table does improve the audio a bit too.Overall, it's sturdy, heavy and it does exactly what I wanted it to do.One star off for making me work. I considered another star off because of the semi-daily emails the seller sends reminding me to rate the product.
