I was expecting a cloth-type jersey knit sheet, these have more of a silky feel. Also, there is a different type of fabric at the ends of the fitted sheet, at the head/foot of bed. I think on a smaller mattress this material would lie on the side of the mattress, on mine it looks unsightly stretched across the top of the bed. The top sheet is also ample and they wash and dry extremely well with no shrinkage. They seem soft and luxurious but my one problem is, in winter, my electric blanket slips right off the bed, onto the floor because they are slippery, like silk - had to use a cotton knit top sheet to stop it happening - you can't tuck an electric blanket. Even lighter weight, summer blankets tend to slide around, even tucked in. They are stretchy and fit bed perfectly. Hold up in wash great. I have a baby who spits up a lot so they've been washed a few times since we got them.
