It is a heavy package and the wood feels really sturdy. My husband the handyman, said it was annoying to build so beware of that if you're a novice builder. He doesn't mind building IKEA stuff, so this says a lot. But after it was built, it's gorgeous! The drawers are decent size for keys, mail, small flashlight, or other small items. But don't expect to put your winter scarf, adult-sized gloves or hat in there. It can certainly fit a few children's items, but not a ton. Add a basket to the bottom shelf and it's a beautiful and functional entryway table. It was easy to assemble and did not take a terribly long time. It is actually a little sturdier than I thought it might be. The drawers are perfect for things like flashlights, pens, and other items you might want as you head out the door. I added a basket on top for keys and mail. I use the shelf underneath to hold my bags so I can just grab them as I leave. This table would look nice in a variety of different spaces. The only drawback is there is nothing to cover the holes with the big screws.
