Recommendations?** A: You can use a dimmer to slow the motor so yes a 12v DC variable controller should work **Q: I received this and the fan blade is broken. How can we correct this?** A: Use your old fan blade or return the whole thing **Q: How many rpm?** A: in the range around 650 **Q: Is this a brushless motor?** A: Probably not! DC, low cost, etc. If you want a fancier fan, I suggest you upgrade to a big variable speed one. I changed out the fan in the bathroom so it wouldn't squeak any more and I installed a maxxair fan in the front of the RV. Both seem to be successful replacements. One of the issues with this kind of fan is that it is close to the screen in the vent. On installation, check carefully that the fan blade is fully pushed onto the shaft and the screen is flat or down, not up, as they get stretched out a little over the years. Given how little we use the fans, I thought one large one was plenty of air flow for our 26' class C RV. The large fan is also reversible, although normally the fan is being used when it is hotter outside, and so it is better to draw air in from a shaded side of the RV and exhaust it through the vent. I have difficulty imagining why it would be a good idea to have a reversible fan in the bathroom.
