I’d say we got about 20 or so hours (off and on) using batteries while on vacation.-Will periodically turn on randomly which is also great when leaving dogs alone, it catches their attention and helps keep them active!-Pattern (a circle that occasionally stops to bounce up and down and then reverse) give our dogs an actual (controlled) ‘chase’ while changing course enough to keep them entertained.Cons: Not the most sturdy if your kitties like to knock things off counters and tables or if your doggos try to knock it over. I dropped it and it just fell apart, the bottom came out, wires exposed and all. That said, it was pretty easy to put back together and works just fine. Just felt this was important in case your pets should knock it over and find the wires ‘alluring’. A good fix would just be to secure the bottom with some tape.I have 3 hyper-active Boston Terriers and they want to play 15 hours a day! When we used to leave them at home, we noticed when we got back home they were more hyper than usual for HOURS (we love them more than anything but it was exhausting!). We set up cameras not only to watch them and make sure they are safe when we aren’t home but also to look for an explanation. Turns out, they sleep the WHOLE TIME we’re gone! They simply don’t play with each other if we aren’t around (so strange, I know!).This was a great help! They love chasing the laser pointer and despite these type pointers being aimed at cats, I gave it a try and they not only love it, it gets them to play while we are gone. Sure, they still sleep a little too much BUT this has made such a difference and the situation is much improved! ### ⭐⭐⭐ Misleading *by J***H on Reviewed in the United States on February 29, 2020* My cat likes it, and the toy itself works/looks great, but the description says “USB charging” which is the only reason I picked this model. It made me think it was truly a battery free and cordless toy that I could plug in and charge up for play time, but that wasn’t the case. You either need to use batteries (to be able to place anywhere further than two feet from an outlet), or keep it plugged in the whole time. Based on the short cord it came with it limits the range of where I could plug it in and have my cat actually see/chase the laser. I now have to go back out to the store for a longer cord and some batteries which is annoying. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Some clarification needed *by R***N on Reviewed in the United States on August 19, 2020* Others have raved about this toy. In reading the directions that were enclosed, I wish they had used larger type. I finally used a magnifying glass to read the directions. At one point the directions admonish the used to only put the toy on the floor. Elsewhere they say to put the toy on a table. The pattern goes from the floor to the wall such that my cat lost track of the light. He didn't attempt to chase it, although he probably would if I used it in hand held mode. The cord it comes with is extremely short, and it has not plug to go into an outlet. The cord is maybe 3' long. The other reviews gave me great expectations, which weren't really met.
