I love that this series is designed for multi-grade levels.  The activities are fun and usually only require items that you already have around the house.

Pros:  The experiments are great, the book is organized and easy to read, and learning about inventions, technology and how they are important, the history of it all, and how they relate to the tech we all use today is an important science to learn.CONS:  with all the resources today, you'd think the author could do just a little fact-checking before publishing.  For example, according to this book Edison invented practically EVERYTHING, when this is just all-out false.  He didn't Invent the light bulb (Joseph Wilson Swan did), he didn't discover ac/dc current or the first electric power station, or the xray machine (tesla did), he DID invent the phonograph, he did NOT invent the electric chair or the movie camera (his employee, William Dickinson developed it- in fact,  the camera had been invented long before then), and he did NOT invent the telegraph (which was invented when he was a very small child!)  Edison had a couple of inventions, and the rest he bought patents from other inventors and had his large team of scientists work on with him to improve the product and mass produce it for the public, or someone else entirely came up with it.  It doesn't even mention Tesla, which I think is nuts!  When the book is solely about inventions, and it's so incredibly easy to fact-check these days, please get the inventors right and give credit where it's properly due.  It urks me that school books are still teaching our children incorrect information as "facts."Tip:  Do your own research a little bit on some subjects.It's like continuing to teach kids that Columbus was the first outsider to sail to American shores.  C'mon.
