Pads need to seal flush with the skin, air gaps caused by hair, joints, wrinkles etc. will cause the pad to arc, sending a shock ( or bite ). Pads that have lost adhesive ability will also cause “biting”. And..be sure you area you are padding is completely dry before applying the jel or pad. Luckily the unit still worked, and I had had it about 2 weeks so I was familiar with the settings on the screen.
