The packaging was excellent, and both arrived in great condition. Appearance-wise, these are the same classic large diner mugs I've enjoyed throughout my youth. They are the 10 ounce size, so they're a bit larger than some, but the slightly convex shape makes them easy to hold, and the handle is just right for two fingers. They are solid and sit firmly on the desk, with no sliding around, even when empty.The only very slight downside I could give them (so far!) is that they don't insulate *quite* as well as I remember some of those old diner mugs doing. I tend to drink coffee slowly, so keeping it warm all the way to the end is almost impossible in an uncovered mug, and these do a reasonable job at it. My slight gripe is that the heat is transferred a bit quicker through the mug walls that I expect. On the plus side, this means the mug stays warm longer and thus helps keep the coffee warm. On the minus side, if you just put fresh hot coffee in it, holding it by the mug instead of the handle can be tricky. :)However, at $9 a pop, there's no reason NOT to get these if you want this style of mug. I doubt you can find any cheaper unless you know someone who owns a diner and owes you a favor!Oh, I should also note that while they are 10 ounce mugs, they are a generous 10 ounces. I have a K-cup coffee maker that has 6, 8, and 10 ounce selections, and on the 10 ounce setting it still leaves about 3/8-inch of space below the brim, so it probably holds close to 11 ounces. I usually use 8 anyways, since I like stronger coffee, but it's nice to know I won't have a mess to clean up if I do hit 10. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Diner mugs *by J***S on April 21, 2014* I thought that they would hold a little more coffee, but that's MY fault for not measuring.
