I never had this in while playing baseball, but I know that other petroleum based products caused my head to get a heat rash when playing sports. The heat will let you slick your hair and you won't have to moisten or dilute the product **Q: Would this work for an unruly beard?** A: I would never use this for my beard. Not too shiny. A little greasy/waxy but that is to be expected. Lasts all day even with me constantly running my fingers through my hair. Doesn't wash off very easily so after applying I use soap and water on my hands and then dry on a towel and it rubs off my hands. After it's been in my hair all day it usually comes out completely by the time I shower the next morning.
