He has several other pairs of newer $200-300+ boots and was still choosing the old beat up pair of these whenever possible, so I stopped trying to replace them with "nicer" boots and just bought another pair. They've held up better than some of the more expensive ones, plus he says they're super comfortable and I think they look nice. I'd take a man in work boots over dress shoes any day.
