She carved the bas relief middle and sides, and created the box of slabs of sculpting clay. Then each element was hand-painted and dotted with gold leaf. The prototype original is then sent to master artisans in China where it is cast in resin for production. Each triptych is hand-assembled, hand-painted and gold leaf is hand-applied. It is a laborious and time-consuming production. The resulting pieces are spectacularly high quality and true to the original. **Q: Does this nativity come boxed?** A: Beautifully boxed. You won't be disappointed with that aspect. I was disappointed with the size. Even though they give the dimensions somehow I visualized in my head that it was larger. It is a beautiful piece however but definitely very heavy and I would say you need to be prepared to use an anchor for hanging it on the wall. I plan to just display mine on a shelf because I don't care to put the holes in the wall that would be needed to securely hold the weight of hanging. **Q: Do you ship to argentina?** A: No, just to USA addresses through Amazon.
