## Description

The DEI line of custom fit Titanium Turbo Shields with LR Technology provide the ultimate means of reducing turbo lag while serving as a superior heat barrier - shielding and protecting engine components, hoods and painted surfaces and offering a very cool carbon fiber look. Made from pulverized volcanic rock then strained into a fiber material, Titanium Turbo Shields can withstand direct heat up to 1800 degrees Fahrenheit and radiant heat up to 2500 degrees Fahrenheit. This means retaining more heat in the turbine and less damaging underhood heat. The result is a cooler air intake temperature and a boost in horsepower. Stronger and more durable than other turbo blankets or shields, Titanium Turbo Shields include a hi-temp rated silica insulation padding under the tight outer layer for extra added protection against extreme turbo-generated heat. Note of Caution: This Turbo Shield is not flammable. However, if any flammable fluids are introduced to it, conditions may be suitable for a flame to be produced. Please take all necessary precautions to insure that the oil supply line and all fluid fittings are in proper working order, sealed and without leaks. DEI is not responsible for any damage caused by fluid contamination. This shield is not designed to be removed after it has been through heat cycles. After the fibers have been heated they lose their initial flexibility. This does not reduce the thermal properties of the shield. Be aware of this before you decide to remove the shield.

Review: excellent product and very good asthetics - first let me get the only negative thing out of the way, they do not include any kind of fastening spring or wire to attach this unit to the turbo. I used a stainless steel wire to tightly fasten the 3 points on the shield. besides that this thing looks great and fits good, very good buy. i am just finishing building motor and have not seen differences in turbo spool or heat shielding from bay, but im sure i will appreciate what it does.

Here's the thing, I replacing the stock 16T with a 19T and it simply doesnt fit. The GT22 shield is just too big to really fit at all on the TD04HL hot side. Unfortunately, this is the smallest unit they make, so Im outta luck for a blanket. I just don't see another brand i 1) feel good about 2) believe won't burn my car to the ground or 3) just fall apart in a few months. Not the end of the world, the hot side is already swaincoated, this was going to be a hat on a hat, I knew that, but more heat reduction in the bay is always a good thing. So why give it 5 stars? Well, it is clearly very well made (bums me out i can't use it), and it's not DEIs fault it doesn't fit, the TD04 hot side is just too wimpy for the GT22 shield. I have used their blanket on a t3/04b and it fit great, so it's not a design issue. Bummer for me, but for those that have a hot side that this fits, I would go so far as to say it's worth every penny. I use their Ti wrap and its great, buit that's another review. FYI, while yes, sure, you can take it off if you need to service the turbo, but be aware, that once you start heat cycling this thing, it gets brittle, not a flaw, thats just the way the material is, so plan ahead and slap this puppy on when you are done with all the fiddly bits so you don;t have to go taking it off after install (and full temp cycling). Take all of this as you will, it's just my 2 bits.

first let me get the only negative thing out of the way, they do not include any kind of fastening spring or wire to attach this unit to the turbo. I used a stainless steel wire to tightly fasten the 3 points on the shield. besides that this thing looks great and fits good, very good buy. i am just finishing building motor and have not seen differences in turbo spool or heat shielding from bay, but im sure i will appreciate what it does.

We do not get these readily available in the UK. It is one of the best turbo blankets that money can buy. All the rest just fall apart, this one does its job and keeps looking good!
