It does not have the pressure sensitivity that some Apple specific programs might incorporate for the newest Apple Pencil, nor can you open your iPad from screen lock into a writing or coloring screen. No biggie for MOST people. Need those features, buy the Apple Pencil Gen 2 for $129! If you don’t require those features, this one is exceptional and a bargain! After having the new replacement product since June, I am thrilled to say the nib has not broken, and is fantastic!!! It works as described by seller.Why 3* and not 5*? Simple. Two issues.First, the auto sleep mode after 5 minutes is problematic. While using the pen, while using an app or playing a game, the pen shuts off, no warning! It doesn't wait five minutes from last use (that is, being idle). Now the pen has lasted me 30 minutes and sometimes more before it shuts off, but when on a time sensitive app or game, that auto-shutoff seems to be always at the wrong or worse time, i.e., Murphy's Law, right?!Second issue, the nibs -- I was told, would be available for purchase by July. Without being able to purchase additional nibs, the product is worthless after the two nibs supplied with purchase have been trashed. The nibs screw on. So I saw this one and decided to try it.My first couple points will be neutral:•It's almost identical in size, shape and look of the official Pencil as you can see in the photos. ▪︎it's even magnetic to attach to the side of the screen•To turn it on, you tap the "butt" of it; there's no physical button, you just tap it. (More on this below)Pros:•USB C! This is amazing, because I feel like most cheaper 3rd party accessories use micro USB, but the iPad uses type C, so I don't even need to use an extra cord.•It has a small indicator light that is blue when in use and red when charging•It's lighter than the Pencil, yet still solid construction and doesn't feel flimsy.•It doesn't require Bluetooth pairing, but just automatically starts working on the screen.Cons:•Somehow, despite the tip being roughly the same size, this thing is LOUD! The "eraser" back that it has had made it so easy to scroll. I was worried when I saw the reviews about how it scratches the screen so I waited to use it properly before posting my review and I can say for sure that I didn't have any issues with that. I was ready to invest on a screen protector when I read the other reviews but I have used it every single day for weeks now and havent seen any sign of scratches. I absolutely love this stylus! It has helped me take notes easily and make my life so much easier. If you have an ipad and want to buy an apple pen or well just a stylus, this is definitely the way to go. For less than half the price for an apple pen, this stylus is an absolute steal for its price!Update: I dropped the pen on a soft carpet but I guess it landed wierdly so the nib broke. I couldnt change the nib myself so I had to replace the product but it was really easy to contact the seller and get it replaced.
