However, my skates still look brand new, so they did their job. I think it's only reasonable that fabric would rip when you slice at them with metal blades, so I have no complaints. The rips don't start spreading, either, so you won't get runs in these like you would stockings. I use white thread to patch up the holes when I have the time.
