To change from toms to ride mounting, I found an on-line supplier of 1" chrome tubing (easily sturdy enough to get the job done). Then I used a Gibraltar SC-RMAA (upside down) to make the transition from the 1" bass mount to standard 1.5" pipe and then the world is your oyster. For me, I used a Gibraltar SC-RBA on top to hold a boom arm for the ride. If you are into cutting stuff and have clearance, you can mount the ride just above the bass and below rack mounted toms. Done that too. **Q: What is the diameter of the downtube? I've seen two different descriptions: 7/8 and 3/4 inches. Thanks!** A: The downtube is 7/8".
