I need not mix manufacturers and gauges anymore as I’ve hit the jackpot with the hybrid John Pearse 601LM. They dial in fast with highs and mids ringing through and provide the missing lows after many years playing this guitar. The tonal quality and frequencies are unmatched. The 3rd-6th strings are silk wound phosphor bronze. I wanted something easier on the fingers and easier to fret chords well with and these are that. They do feel slightly soft, but not too soft. I like the .012 to .053 gauge, they are easier to play and more finger tip friendly than many electric guitar strings of a smaller gauge. I would have expected to see … some silk winding on the ends of these sixes but none … hmm … the other thing the big E is just too thick on their light sets , I don’t know ….and on the 6 the big E is not very supple … otherwise done right they are great strings …I think the 12 strings are more impressive , was expecting a little for the 6 , but I dunno … I think JP strings are very good , probably the best for some guitars …but pricey ….
