I'm wanting to do 3-5 minute exposures continually for 3+ hours** A: Yes it will track. Not sure if the tracking is smooth enough for 3 to 5 minute exposures. I have had mixed success with 30 second exposures. The altitude and azimuth motors sometimes seem to go in a step function mode. All in all I am pretty happy with the scope but if I had to do it over again I would get an 8” on an equatorial mount. It would be lighter, more portable, easier to set up on a wet uneven lawn and more accurate tracking **Q: How powerful are the motors on the sides of the tube for tracking purposes? does camera/smartphone weight move it easily?** A: I noticed that I can generally have exposures of up to 30 seconds or maybe even a minute before blurred lines become an issue, depending on the location of an object.
