## Description

The ORIGINAL - Patented - Smart Cat Box Value Pack. Contains: 1-Litter Box; 2-5LB Bag Litter; 1-Tacking Mat; 1-Wall Extensions; 1-Scooper. The Smart Cat Box is amazingly simple. It's the ultimate litter box for your pet’s health. The All-Natural, Non-Absorbent, Eco-Friendly Olive Pit Litter is 100% natural, 99% dust free and less tracking. The urine flows into a reservoir for urinalysis and/or easy disposal. The urine and solid waste can be disposed of in the toilet. For In-Home Urinalysis see "Smart Cat Box Diabetic Litter Box". TESTIMONIAL …” thank you” for the boxes! They are wonderful! I recently had a situation with the 2 cats in my back room. They had no physical signs of any illness and seemed perfectly healthy and happy. But when I emptied the urine receptacle on Saturday, I noticed it was unusually dark. I brought it to work and ran a urinalysis and, sure enough, there was blood and crystals in the urine. We tested both cats and both have URI’s! Your litter box alerted me to a problem that I would have otherwise not have detected! Thanks!! Cindy C. San Bruno, CA BE PRO-ACTIVE WITH YOUR CATS HEALTH. Vets agree that early detection is the most powerful tool they have for maintaining good feline health. Recent major trends in Pet Care (Home Testing, Wellness Screening and Pet Insurance) all rely on an efficient, natural and user-friendly Urine Collection System (UCS). The patented Smart Cat Box is the only UCS that meets the requirements for all three advancements in pro-active pet health care. Home Urinalysis for cat diseases include, but not limited to, diabetes, CRF and UTI is endorsed and recommended by veterinarians, less stress on the cat, less stress on the owner and less stress on the vet. In-home urine collection for urinalysis provides reliable test results for a wide range of cat illnesses. Home testing is much easier and much less expensive than frequent visits to the vet. Wellness Screening is a growing practice by cat parents in the home.

Review: Don't hesitate! This is truly the best litter box I have used so far and trust me I have use them all! - Honestly – there are no words describe how amazing this litter box is! When I first received the box, the bag of safflower seed was open and a little bit spilled into the litter box. My kitty, ever curious was next to me when I opened up the box and just walked right into it with just a handful of seeds and urinated in the box! I was so astonished and hopeful that the little reservoir didn't have a lid over it because I was still setting the box up. I was lucky – it was in the right place and all was well. She took to the box right away! Right now I have the box in the living room and there's absolutely no smell of urine at all. I periodically check the seeds with a tissue just to see if they are saturated and they are not even damp. Well done! I hope inventor received an award for the design and use.
Review: I love it. - I didn't get this for the health/testing aspect, but rather to minimize litter waste, and it's done a great job of that! One of my older cats (age 19) now lives in our bedroom, so we had to put a litter box up there for her, and put it in our walk-in closet. Dealing with clumping clay, which I don't mind in the basement, was just gross near our clothes, and we did not appreciate walking through the tracked litter in our bare feet, so I was looking for an alternative. I'd tried a few other things, then read about this & decided to give it a try, and am happy I did. I did have to transition - I taped a piece of cardboard over the slotted bottom and put in some used clay & silica crystal litter, adding in Yesterday's News (paper pellets) that I had lying around as the other was pulled out with cleaning - getting her used to using the box, and at the same time an increasingly pelleted texture. Eventually I dumped all that, pulled out the cardboard, switched cold turkey to the safflower seeds, and she continued to use the box without objection. When I did put the seeds in, I found it worked best to put in both of the bags that came with this "value pak," not just one as they suggest. With just one it appeared the box bottom felt bouncy as the cat walked across it because of the slatted bottom - with both bags the litter spread the weight. (I read this comment somewhere else and found it to be true.) It tracks some - the seeds are quite light - but they don't hurt underfoot, stay intact - don't grind into a powder - and don't stick to other things (like *my* feet). Plus since they're generally not absorbent, and the ones on the surface of the box are quite dry, they don't seem gross at all on the floor. I pick them up and drop them back in, or sweep & dump them. I did have to build up the sides a bit, but that's my cat's issue - she steps in but doesn't turn around so she peed either just inside or just outside the door. I built feet for the corners of the walls to sit on, and put a step outside to help her get in, and once the doorway was high enough it kept everything inside. Now that everything's set, it's working great! I pull out the drawer morning and night and dump it - she's old, her kidneys aren't working at peak efficiency (more water in, more water out), so I don't want to take the chance that the drawer will fill up, but once a day would probably be fine. I have to carry it the length of my upstairs hall to dump it in the bathroom, and the lid keeps it from spilling. I think that probably also keeps the odor in the drawer, because I never smell anything (but then she's not very smelly in that department, not like my old guy). I scoop & flush the poop, no problem. Yes, you smell it right after she goes, but she never covered anyway so that's no different than before. The seeds do take in a little urine - they don't seem to get smelly but some turn black. When I empty the drawer I grab the scoop and give it all a rake to mix anything wet up from the bottom so it can dry, but I don't think that's necessary. I had the original seeds in there for some weeks (3??), and just last week replaced them with about 8 pounds from the pet store. The new ones are smaller, but still seem to work fine. Since I'm cheap, and the old ones still weren't smelly or anything, I rinsed them in a bucket of bleach water, drained them and dried them on trays in a warm oven, and put them away in a bucket for reuse. I LOVE that I'm not throwing away pounds of litter every week. I love that I don't have gross clumps of clay sitting around waiting for trash day. I love that there is no clay or silica on my floor waiting to be ground to hard-to-clean powder by my feet (yuck!). I considered the Breeze system but quickly decided that (1) my cats, who have never been happy with a pelleted litter, were unlikely to take to the heavier pellets of that system, and (2) a drawer that could be dumped, rinsed, and reused was way greener than using and throwing away pads one or more times a week (and cheaper, too!). If your cats don't mind pellets, I should think the Breeze pellets likely to work in this system and they would be more completely non-absorbent than the safflower seeds, and being heavier wouldn't track out. But this is working for me.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ BEST YET! Thank you for inventing this!
*by D***B on May 4, 2013*

I am easily transitioning from the Breeze litter system to is one! It seems that 2 of my 3 cats started a urinating competition to see who could do it higher. This meant out of the box completely and onto the wall down to the floor and a big puddle to clean up 2-3x a day. Yep, drove me nuts. This is the perfect solution to my problem! So far... don't know what they will come up with next. But I did make some changes as follows: 1. I am using the Breeze pellets because they are heavier and don't track. 2. I am also using the scoop because it was designed for the pellets and has a built in hanger. 3. I needed to make the walls as high as possible so this is what I did. I joined all 4 walls with the corner joints so that they were all aligned at the bottom. Then I pushed the front entrance down farther so that the cats could still get in and out easily. THEN, I used the hook that came with the SmartCatBox and placed it on the corner, making 3 more out of paper clips for the other corners. Then I lowered the walls so that the holes in the corner joints ended up sitting on the smaller part of the hook and hence lifting the entire wall system as high as possible. I hope this makes sense, and helps anyone that had my problem as well.
