It has allowed, in quite a few circumstances, for me and my friends to get strong, consistent 3G connections in iffy almost-dead zones, where signal would otherwise periodically drop off. More importantly, however, it has at least once also allowed me to get a data connection for navigation in a total dead zone when I was totally lost.There are of course places where even this booster does no good. Places like that include deep tunnels and heavily-wooded canyons -- places where you'd not expect any signal whatsoever to penetrate, and you'd need a BGAN terminal to connect to the internet. But even so, I've sometimes gotten just the tiniest trace of 2G or 3G signal in such places, which is just enough to deliver the payload and hit that target.It was also easy to install and I had fun doing just that. The cables are generously long and allowed me to route them under the upholstery. I recommend getting some 2-sided velcro strips that are close to the color of the upholstery for hiding/protecting the cable. That's how I did it; I ran the cables from the central console, down the ridge in the middle of the floor in back, and then under the rear seats, and I covered it up in patches of velcro applied directly to the upholstery. The main booster unit is ziptied to the frame of my car in the trunk, while the antenna is magnetized nearby and can be put on the roof and taken down just as easily, making it so that I can stow it away when I'm not using it and don't have to advertise the fact that I have it in the car.I'd definitely recommend this, but given its price I'd say think very carefully about how often you'd use it before purchasing it. I received it about a week ahead of the promised delivery date.The product appears to work pretty well. However, the placement of the antennas is quite sensitive. If the Antennas are too close together, then the unit will shut down. For my Crew Cab truck, I have to position the antennas diagonally on opposite ends of the Cab before it will continuously operate. The instruction manual also recommends that the antennas be place 5' apart.Also, I wished that I had waited until Wilson releases their newer 4G model on the market.06/02/14 Update: Finally got the placement of the antennas in correct positions where the unit will stay working on my Tundra Crew Cab truck. The same antenna positions will work on a Chevy 4-door Truck. However, I could not get the unit to work anywhere on a Honda Element vehicle. Regardless, it works for my vehicle and now I am happy with the system. I am now able to use my cell phone almost anywhere on my remotely rural Mississippi farm, and in places that I could not use it before. No dropped calls, and no drop-outs in conversations. Having a cell phone booster is a MUST for anyone who works in remote locations.
