I love this product and I am purchasing another one now as both dogs fight over it so they each need their own! **Q: Would this hold the weight of a 150lb great dane? Also, is the outer ring easily punctured?** A: Yes, I am over 200 lbs and I lay/sit in it a lot with no problem. The construction is very durable heavy fabric which is not easily punctured. Our dog has some claws (very noticeable when he comes swimming at us to hold him), and has not damaged the float at all. Now, we send him to the float when he swims at us. You do need to give him a push up on the behind to get him in the float, they can't really get into it themselves. **Q: Is this something a person can use when the dog is left at home? For the price, I want something that both my dog and I can use.** A: It can be used for both Dog and person. My daughter got in with her boxer and it kept it a float. That would be about 200lbs. **Q: Why does the spring keep twisting when my dog gets in it? I can't get it untwisted and he is anout dumped out of it.** A: Same thing happened to mine.
