This led night night will turn on only when it is dark and when motion is detected, you can take it out if your want. But it is suggested to use indoors if case of the weather.

A: Hi, These lights work on batteries, motion sensored so for me owning literally over 75 of them, posting them all over my house, depends on how much and how often you trigger them to go on, but for me they last sometimes a couple of weeks, sometimes longer. They use AAA batteries. I have saved a bundle on electricity. Hope this helps! really are great lights for me!
