Do you plan to pass them on to your children? No, I don't think so. The paper is thin but standard for paper lanterns. The metal supports are very cheap and delicate, but are you hanging these things around or playing kickball with them? They hold up just fine. You can't beat the price either. We had a bunch of these lying on the ground and hanging up for a wedding reception. We were even able to salvage about half of them and keep them for later use. The paper lantern part holds up well--it's the metal support that was hit or miss as far as saving for later. Those break down when you take them apart.
