He also said he wanted a pet falcon but I had to explain to him that it is actually illegal to capture and own a falcon unless you have a license for it. He then changed his mind to wanting to camp out in the truck of a tree. I had to remind him that we live in Louisiana, and not the Catskill Mountains. LOL. Review: Great Book for Teaching Children Values. - This is a great book for children, teaching values such as self-reliance, independence, respect for nature, conservation, appreciation of what you have, and perspective. It’s child’s adventure-fiction about a young boy who lives in a hollow tree and learns about nature for a year. I read this book in grade school, when I was about 10. Looking back, the book was strongly influential in my life. This is probably good for ages 9-14.
