I listened to the CD and created my own affirmations for loving myself and landing a better job at a higher salary. I promised myself I would do the mirror work for 30 days. Within 2 weeks of beginning the affirmations I received an unexpected promotion at my job. Within 8 weeks I had an interview for my current position. Then I got excited and created new affirmations for succeeding in the interview process. The hiring process was really long, but 6 months later I landed the position and I know it's was largely because of my willingness to stick through with Hay's mirror work process. That was several years ago. Now I use affirmations on a daily basis. The book is worth purchasing because Hay explains the technique in detail. It seems simple, but there is a science behind affirmations that needs to be studied before creating them willy-nilly. I also took to heart Hay's suggestion of maintaining a positive outlook.
