Just a very simplistic well thought out design on Samsung's part. When that band finally broke on me I tried getting another original from Samsung. Fyi. They want $49.99 just for the band, and that doesnt include shipping. So I looked on Amazon and came across this one. Looked similar. Got decent reviews. Price wasnt bad, so if I didnt like it I'm not out a ton of money. Gave it a try. I must say this is probably the closest to factory replacement band I've ever had for a smart watch. It does look and feel a little bit thicker but that's perfect for me since I tore the original one. It's the exact same length as the original. Very comfortable, doesnt cause chafing or rashes like some aftermarket bands will. I've worn it for 3 days straight without taking it off, while working outside sweating and all and absolutely no skin irritation. So if your looking for a good inexpensive replacement to the factory band this is it. I can say without a shadow of a doubt I will be purchasing more of these in different colors.
