That said, this is my first "real" Kindle cover, and I find that I really like the way it makes holding the Kindle feel like holding a book (side note: I also find it rather puzzling that several other reviewers used the elastic band to avoid this feeling; to each his own).The side pocket doesn't seem that useful to me, as it has no depth. You could maybe put emergency money or concert tickets in it, but not much else. I'd prefer enough depth for a small cleaning cloth.Another reviewer complained that the corner brackets holding the Kindle in place were too loose, but my Kindle doesn't shift around unless I deliberately push on it. Possibly there's some manufacturing vagary, or the other reviewer is pickier than I am. For the one I received, if it had been any tighter a fit, I'm not sure I could have squeezed the Kindle into the brackets, honestly.UPDATE: This cover has become worn enough that I decided to replace it, after about 18 months of use. The front edge where the cover bends back is cracking. 18 months isn't a bad run, considering how heavy a reader I am. A lighter reader would likely have it last much longer. However, I replaced it with an OMOTON cover, which has a molded back-plate that the Kindle just clicks into. After only a few days use, I have to say that I prefer this to the corner brackets. Whichever you choose, make sure it fits the model of Kindle you own! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Elastic Strap stretches beyond use in time *by L***E on Reviewed in the United States on May 29, 2014* First....I loved this cover. It was extremely easy to get my Kindle in the case and the inside pocket is very handy. The case itself is very durable, offers excellent protection for the Kindle, and is not too thick. My biggest concern when I purchased this case was keeping it closed; I wanted to make sure when it was closed it was firmly closed. The elastic strap was part of the reason I ordered this case.So, and I say this with my purchase being almost 2-1/2 years ago, my problem with it is the elastic strap that holds this case closed. I don't believe I open and close my device any more than others do. When I read my Kindle I either spend an hour at a time or an entire day (we all have to have lazy reading days once in a while, after all!). Over time, the elastic strap has completely stretched out where the strap connects to the case itself. So much so that it is almost useless. In fact, I doubt it will be much longer and the strap will break away from the case completely and at that point....it will be useless.I believe when purchasing a case it should last the lifetime of the product it is protecting under normal use. I certainly had that in mind when I purchased the case.I just purchased a Kindle Fire (my old Kindle will go to my husband so we both have our own - I'm the heavier reader so I'm claiming the Kindle Fire for myself) and ordered a case for that at the same time. I made certain I purchased a case without an elastic strap because of my experience with this case. Since he does not travel with a Kindle, keeping the case firmly closed will not be an issue for him.Just something others should keep in mind when deciding on a cover themselves. This case will not last you the lifetime of the device itself. If that is not an issue for you, this case is perfect in every other way. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Wow! All the positive reviews here are not hyerbole! *by P***R on Reviewed in the United States on February 25, 2015* This is my 3rd case for my original Kindle 4th generation reader with page buttons on the sides. I went through a couple of $5 cheapo cases that I got on Ebay, both of which were substandard, then I saw the reviews on this one. This is the one! It's very well-made. The case leaves all the buttons well-exposed, it protects the Kindle from sliding out, and the elastic band is very clever and pops into a vertical slot on the front cover when you close it up.It also folds back nicely so I can clip on my reading light and hold it in one hand.I'll see how much of a beating this one can take. I suspect it will last a good while. If you have one of the original Kindles like mine, it might be wise to scarf up one or two more.
