Can you get it close to the ground? What is the best way to keep it upright across?** A: The Driveway Safety Net is not designed for pet use. This is a soft net that a dog could chew through. As far as mounting the product to get the net close to the ground, just make sure that the ground sleeves are slightly angled out away from each other and completely installed into the ground. **Q: I'm looking for a retractable fence for my chickens LOL! I want to divide my yard so they don't destroy my garden. Is this worth a try?** A: I sectioned off a wood chipped area for my dog so he can't access the lawn. It's not retractable, but I just rolled it up on one end around the pole & zip tied it tightly so it's the exact width I need. It does exactly what I wanted it to do so definitely worth it. **Q: is this a good use for keeping basketball from going over neighbor's yard?? for the poles to be fitted in top of gate fence??** A: I'm not sure how you'd affix the poles to the top of a gate, and, no - it's not sturdy enough for that purpose. **Q: Will this bend so I can do a corner for our dogs?** A: I use this to block the end of the driveway so the kids can play. It’s not so thing that would keep the dogs from going under the kids balls go under it all the time.. it’s really long so I’m not sure what you would use in the middle to support it. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Great solution to a sloped driveway on a busy road *by S***9 on Reviewed in the United States on June 12, 2020* This was the perfect solution for our driveway which is flat at the top but then slopes toward a semi busy road. It makes a boundary so the kids can't get too close to the road when riding bikes or running and stops balls when they are playing basketball. Some balls do manage to get over or around the net so a little taller would be nice but overall we are completely pleased with this net. We picked up an extra 24" piece of 3/4" pvc and cut it in half to make a second spot where we can use the poles - one halfway down our driveway and one closer to the end- and put the net where it works best for whatever activity the kids are doing. The 30' net is perfect for our 28' wide driveway and set up at the beginning and rolling up when finished take about 3 minutes each. Initial installation took less than ten minutes and required only a hammer or mallet. I was afraid it would be annoying without the automatically retracting version but I think this is actually better as there is nothing that can break or go wrong with it and rolling it up is easy. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Great product *by V***A on Reviewed in the United States on August 4, 2015* We love this product. It catches balls when they roll down our driveway and gives our kids a visible boundary. It is also nice alert to people driving through our neighborhood. The only reason I did not give it five stars is that the pole got bent one of the first times using it. I think one of our neighbor kids was over playing and may have been a bit rough with it, but I was hoping a 5 year-old couldn't bend the poles so easily. We have hard, rocky ground, so we did have trouble getting the PVC into the ground for the poles to go into, but that is our land and nothing wrong with the product. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Highly recommended *by K***K on Reviewed in the United States on June 2, 2018* Our driveway slopes slightly towards the street, and this safety net has kept our kids safe for years. They don't drive into it with their bikes much, the bright orange is just a very clear reminder 'This far and then turn around', but when they were still learning to ride their bikes it did occasionally happen and the net caught them just fine. They could go around it over the grass, but they're old enough to know better. I would not have trusted a toddler or preschooler to play unsupervised on the driveway anyhow, even with the safety net. It also serves the purpose that approaching cars don't drive into our driveway when the kids are playing outside. Keeps them safe in that way too. After five years of much use, it finally started to sag and we replaced it. We do take it into the garage after play. I don't see why a retractable would be better, it is so easy to just fold this one and put it away.
