They are a little stiff and hard to close at first, but they loosen up with use.I have an Inissia machine, and have packed the pods with Lavazza, Bustelo, and Melita espresso as well as with regular ground coffee that I have reground to an espresso fine grind. I pack the coffee in quite hard, and in each case I get great and consistent results with a very nice crema.I love that I can make my own blends, e.g. I often put in a little hazelnut coffee with my medium roast.
