I was diagnosed with severe ulcerative colitis in my early thirties. I couldn't even take a sip of water without running to the bathroom. I had bleeding ulcers in my colon, was put on prednisone, and doctors at Princeton Gastroenterology in NJ counseled me about the likely need to have part of my colon removed in years to come, and the need to wear an external bag for the rest of my life. Ugh!Not wanting to take Rx drugs for life because of their terrible side effects, and not liking the future prognosis, I looked for something better. A few years later, I came across Intestive at a Mind-Body-Spirit Expo in Philadelphia. They were handing out free samples because it's all food based (whitefish [Seacure], colostrum, and boswelia [a.k.a. frankincense]). As I was told, Intestive (or their Seacure product) was originally produced as a supplement to help severely malnourished individuals in 3rd-world countries. They later found Intestive helps with colitis, diverticulitis, irritable bowel syndrome and more.I immediately began weening myself off prednisone over the next 6 months, while taking 6 Intestive caps/day as recommended. Fast forward five years, and I had new doctors where I had moved to asking me if I was sure I had ulcerative colitis, because there were no signs of it in my colonoscopy. Same results 5 years thereafter with new doctors again, and five years after that... Eventually, I reduced my Intestive dosage down to one per day. Then stopped taking them for about 5-10 years, mostly for economic reasons after losing a job. After stopping Intestive for many years, some mild symptoms began to redevelop, so I started taking them again.I now just take one per morning in as preventative measure, but on the rare occasion that I feel I need more, I take a second one at night. I frankly plan to take them for the rest of my life. $10-15/month is well worth the health benefits. There is nothing in this product that is harmful (unless you have issues with whitefish (not shellfish), colostrum, or boswelis (frankincense), and it's oh sooo helpful!!!My neighbor recently told me he has diverticulitis and his doctor had him scheduled for partial colon removal in September 2022, and bag for life. I told my neighbor about Intestive and my history with colitis, and I gave him an extra box I had at home. He started taking them that day, and 3 days later, he told me he was already noticing a huge improvement in his symptoms. It's now a few weeks later, and he is feeling great. In fact, he is now hoping to be able to cancel the surgery.Yes, diet is important. I try to stay away from all milk products (lactose is a problem for me). I also eat a very healthy diet now of mostly organic veggies, hummus, organic fruits and nuts, and organic rice cakes. But I just adapted to that diet in recent years. Intestive has helped me for decades now.If you have any problems with your colon, I highly recommend this product. No ill side effects, unless you have a problem with whitefish (not shellfish), boswelia, or colostrum. But most people do not. I also want to point out the company who distributed to me, HEALTHY TRADER was very cooperative when I reported I had a major issue with the package when it was delivered to me. It was dripping wet like it had fallen into water and the product boxes just fell apart. I sent pictures of the problem at their request and they replaced the product without hesitation.
