In this case, it was very difficult to do so with a conventional cutter. This circle cutter is made of good materials, is sturdy and safe to use, and can be used to make circles of different sizes. I used it to make some cup holders, and it saved me time and produced perfect circles. Review: A tool not a toy. If you need to cut something tough this is the item. - I got this to cut gaskets. Blue fiber gasket material is tough, like wood tough. This will cut it. It's basically an 18mm utility knife on a stick. A cutter I can lean on. The bar is metal. The center pin is big and screws down so the length is adjustable. The knob pivots and is big enough to hold it in place. It doesn't make it easy but it is way easier than trying to follow a pencil line with a handheld knife. A good tool and a good price.
