The directions say to use petroleum jelly around the eyebrows to avoid skin staining but I didn't use that and I was fine. You just need to be careful and wipe away the tint if it gets anywhere other than the eyebrows. It dries down sort of like henna which makes the removal a little difficult but I used a dry cloth initially then a spoolie brush to get some of the tint off before moving on to the next step. I did one application initially and only let it sit for 2 mins. Then i repeated the process a second time to get a bit darker tint. I've had both kits. I like this one better: first, it's easier to deal with even though there are 2 steps involved to this one; I was able to control the solutions better than with having to mix the capsules and apply a messier solution. This kit has a base color and a developer solution.
