I found the sleeves a tad on the short side, but it could be because my son is very tall. He is 16 months now and this still fits him although it is getting quite short in the sleeve and the torso. A chubby baby would have outgrown it much sooner I think. I would size up just because i prefer a looser fit with this sort of thing and you don't want arms and back exposed because the point of it is sun protection. I will likely be buying him the size 18-24 month size next for an upcoming vacation.
