Its internal batteries are bypassed. **Q: So will this charge my batteries while there in my camera? Or do i need to purchase one of those battery chargers for that** A: I have only used it to allow long video runs with the camera without worrying about battery capacity. It works fine for that with my L820. I don't think it can have been designed to recharge the batteries in the camera, though, because there's no guarantee that you've put rechargeable batteries in the camera.
