I used that stuff to seal a coolant freeze plug leak once on my car and even pin holes leaking the bottom of a gas tank while it still had gas in it and it worked!... It's really tricky stuff especially on smooth surfaces...It does not work as a patch but as a plug in the hole so you have to really work a small amount of it into the crack or hole and rough up the area around it well so it sticks well. After working the putty in and let it dry try wrapping it with some sort of high heat exhaust bandage to keep it intact for a while... good luck. **Q: Does this have the consistensy of play-doh while working with it?** A: No... it is like a paste and you work it into joints and cracks before it starts to dry in about 1/2 an hour..fully cures in about 20-24 hrs. **Q: Will this work on a riding mower muffler? Had a protective bracket vibrate off leaving two holes where it mounted. Will this plug small holes?** A: Absolutely not. The first time you start the mower it will blow the plugs out again. If you can find a way to wrap the muffler with metal (tin can, light sheeting) then seal it with this and hose clamp it , this may help keep it together.
