After a few years my iPod pooped out, well after cracking the screen and dropping it in water, etc. Only way to listen to music other than AM/FM and CD's was to use the 3mm jack. And if you had a bad cable, it would sound terrible. SO I found this and thought I would give it a try. A way to connect the lightning device to the older 30 pin is needed and the wired adapter was first tried. That works some places, not others and it needs to have the case removed from iphone to allow the adapter to seat. What if there were a way to connect the 30 pin device to the newer iPhone wirelessly?Well that is what this Blutooth adapter promises to do! Just plug it into your boom box, dock, car stereo and automatically pair with your Blutooth iPhone and play your music just aS you did before! This one came without any instructions, just a plastic envelope. It was mechanically difficult to plug into the dock receptacle because the socket was pushed against the case of the blutooth device. When plugged in it immediately powered up as shown by the very tiny blu light. Blinking indicated it was searching and a chime in the Car Stereo indicated it was connected to the Stereo. It shows as "iPhone dock" in the phones' blutooth list and linked easily, indicated by another chime and "connected" in the phones list. Pressing "play", first thing noticed is the music playing at low volume. This can be helped by identifying the Adapter as a Stereo, not headphone, but it is still a weaker output so the stereo ;has to be turned way up. Played nicely with good fidelity. But, after a few minutes, a high pitched whistle could be heard in the background, then a buzz as well. Probably wouldn't notice it with music turned up high, but for a speech or a movie, it gets annoying real fast. Then, later, had a lot of trouble getting it to link again. For these reasons, I can't recommend it .
