I removed the right side cover and simply pull out the stock relay (not the brake relay), insert the spades into the proper connectors, mount it with a zip tie, and that's it. Losing the self cancelling feature just means that if the turn signal is blinking when you turn the ignition to "OFF" it will be blinking when you turn the key to "ON" but there is no consumption of power while the ignition is in the "OFF" position.
