I've cobbled together shelves in my garage out of particle board, tried the metal shelves you have to put together and most of those are a joke. Then I found these! Just in time too, since I just had a new 12'x20' garage workshop built and I just finished building a 10'x10' storage building with the tall barn style roof. After my garage workshop was built the first thing I did was use the 2x4Basics Sawhorse kit to build a nice pair of sawhorses. Since I could make them as big as I needed and wanted, and since I'm 6'4" tall I made them 36" high and 4' wide. Then laid 3 2x4s across them with a sheet of 7/16" 4'x8' OSB sheeting on top of that. This made the perfect worktable at the right height for me to use while I finished the inside of my workshop and then built the 10'x10' storage building. I've used the shelflinks to build two sets of shelves in the storage building and they turned out great! I found it works very well with using only the two outside 2x4s for the shelves and screw down a 16" wide strip of 7/16 OSB sheeting on them. On a 8 ft long by 7 ft high set of 5 shelves this way they come out about $8 to $12 cheaper. Depends on where you get your lumber. Of course they wont hold as much heavy stuff but for lighter things that are taking up space they work great this way. And compared to the metal shelves you put together yourself, with umpteen tiny screws and nuts, these are way better and a lot cheaper. A set of these 8' long with 4 or 5 shelves will hold more than 3 sets of the metal shelves and cost about half or less than the metal shelves do, and are a lot stronger and better looking too! Besides being way easier to put together! My next project with them is to build the workbench and shelves kit for my workshop. I did the ones for my storage building first to learn the best way to put them together. After building my workbench I'm going to use them to build a stand for my 1014 Jet wood lathe. And then a stand for the new flat screen TV I've been wanting to get. Then I'll probably find something else to use them for. I just hope they don't raise the price on them! Like my dad would have said, "these are the neatest thing since popcorn!" ### ⭐⭐⭐ decent *by M***Y on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on February 2, 2014* I have these as well as the workbench legs. I like the workbench legs a lot better. Shelf links are pretty good, I would give them 4 stars if they gave you decent screws. The included screws are garbage, save yourself some frustration and replace them. Also, it's not clear from the pictures but the brackets overhang the 2x4 shelves a bit.
