Camera works great, you can see images very clear. ### ⭐⭐⭐ Visuals barely adequate. *by V***O on February 23, 2014* I want to like this better, but I cannot, due to a few serious limitations.CON: The received image is tiny, about an inch and a half square. The lighting is not optimal either. It either bleaches out the facial features or doesn't seem to light them at all. The image capture is slow and jerky, often with the result of a view with a small and unidentifiable piece of the person in it, moving or still.(To be fair, we are using a phone for receiving the images, and its screen is small. It's possible a better screen for images would give more clarity. The phone set we got was the recommended set.)PRO: What I do like about this was, for one thing, ease of installation. Batteries are easy to install, and the appearance is unobtrusive. We mounted it in a seam in a stucco wall. The sound quality is good. When someone presses the bell, it sounds like an old fashioned doorbell. It is also easy to speak and hear the person at the door through the receiver. And, the receiver doubles as phone. It records images and keeps them.We got two doorbells and three phones, for our upstairs and downstairs doors.This item works best to simply confirm visually who you already expect at the door. If you know what your guest looks like you are likely able to identify him or her.This would be better with clearer and crisper images. It's just okay and enough for now. I'll probably bite the bullet and purchase a more conventional security camera system for our residential daycare entryways in the relatively near future. ### ⭐ Poorly designed! Not like other Vtech products! Promptly returned! *by B***N on August 28, 2015* I bought this as an add-on Door Phone with the Vtech IS7121-2 Handset Door Answering System Bundle. I was hoping most of the reviewers were right. I wanted this to work! I wanted to used this in a work environment. Upon receipt, I immediately tested the Answering System in four kinds of light: shaded sunlight, dusk, room light, and in the dark with the infra-red light. The results were all unacceptable. Also, the handsets that came with the Vtech IS7121-2 system were difficult to work with and I am a Vtech fan. I have been a Vtech user for over four years. I have used Vtech 6.0 2-Line Expandable Cordless Phone with Digital Answering System and Caller ID (DS6151) and VTech CS6649 DECT 6.0 Expandable Corded/Cordless Phone with Answering System and Caller ID/Call Waiting, Silver/Black with 1 Handset with multiple handsets in two work environments for several years, VTech DS6521-3 DECT 6.0 Cordless Phone, Silver/Black, 3 Handsets in my home, and have bought the VTech CS6429-2 DECT 6.0 Expandable Cordless Phone with Answering System and Caller ID/Call Waiting, Silver with 2 Handsets for a gift. All of this with no complaints. After working with all of these Vtech handsets, the IS7121 are designed differently in that the center button is no longer used for SELECT, VOLUME and CALLER-ID, but rather for VIEWing and initiating streaming video. It throws off the whole use and familiarity I've had with Vtech phone handsets. The center button is also too big so that it makes it clumsy to access the buttons above it. The $10 Gift Card was the nicest part of the whole thing, but I that had to go back with it.As I said, I am a Vtech fan. Instead of the Vtech IS7121-2 system, I purchased the more expensive Vtech ErisBusinessSystem DECT Corded Phone (UP416) with its Vtech ErisBusinessSystem Extension Deskset (UP406) and Vtech ErisBusinessSystem Accessory Cordless Handset UP407 components. From the first usage, this was accepted very well by everyone who works in our office.
