I have new floors in the house and didn't want anything that would cause discoloration. The rugs are a little thinner than a "rag rug," but they also give my kitchen and entry way a more polished look than those types of rugs. I also wanted to be able to throw my rugs in the washer as needed, and I'll be able to wash these. Other reviews mentioned that these rugs slip. They do slip a little, but that doesn't bother me at all. I like rugs with no backing and use all fabric rugs throughout the house, so I knew there might be a little slipping. This does not take away from their overall performance.
