However this doesn't take away from the fun! They are a soft, but sturdy rubber. This makes them suitable for playing with indoors or outdoors. If they hit the walls indoors, they don't leave a mark. Despite their size, they go a fairly good distance. For outdoor play, the bright yellow color makes them easy to find in the grass.I played with my 10 year old son just catching them, or throwing for distance. My son also made his own games up where he throws them into some old packing materials we had in the house and plays for points. Definitely a fun product to make up your own games with. I thought they'd be bigger, I thought they'd be harder. I'm glad I was wrong. They're super fun and my little ones can throw them around. Everyone from my 1.5 year old to 7 year old thought they were great fun. There is a learning curve, but they didn't care. They're soft so even when they hit someone it wasn't any great damage. They're fun to try to catch, fun to throw. They're a great deal.
