I suggest looking up how to reset the motor as each car may be different. On my 2008 Mazda 3 I had to turn the car all the way on put the window all the way down and hold the button down for a few seconds. Then put the window all the way up and hold it in the up position for a few seconds. Didn't feel like just replacing the gears and the motors were not much more for the entire assembly. Replacement was a breeze, took about 10 minutes per door and voila, the windows work again without issues.
