It’s got a kick so a little goes a long way. It’s also very good mixed with roasted vegetables, like broccoli or potatoes. I also really like it mixed with scrambled eggs. There is also a traditional Middle Eastern breakfast dish, shakshuka, that uses harissa. If you Google it or check out Pinterest there are tons of recipes out there for shakshuka and other uses for harissa paste. It’s so yummy! Enjoy! **Q: What is the serving size and calories per serving?** A: The recipe calls for 3 tablespoons to make the dish. I have made it twice and have enough for one more. The jar says 10 calories per tablespoon. Of course it depends what you add to it. The first time I added plain yogurt, the second time, coconut milk. It’s very spicy, which I like. The flavor is spot on, just like I’ve had in the Middle East. I rub it on veggies like eggplant and zucchini before grilling, put it on chicken, honestly I’d eat it on toast. I’ve used it to spice up bland red sauce. This could make any meal sexy. A little goes a long way, and the heat is dependent on the quantity you use. The jar came in a box and inside the box it was wrapped in cardboard protective wrap, so no issue with leakage or broken glass. I will be ordering this over and over. I follow the Mediterranean diet and this is a great way to bring some excitement to a very clean eating plan.
