For the price, I expected it would be louder and/or not perform as well as other similar tools I've used from other brands. I was pleasantly surprised that it worked just as well as the competitors. I really liked the quick release lever - none of the other ones I've used had that feature - however, at least on the one I received, the pin for the lever tends to fall out so I had to be very careful not to lose it when changing the blades. The blades that come with this unit do not last long. I used it for precise cuts on a laminate flooring project and burned through several of them, even though most of my cutting was done with another saw.
