It's a second layer of fabric so it's going to add thickness but again, it's much thinner than a denim patch. I used it to repair a 100% linen sheet and it worked very well. **Q: How do I apply this patch? I accidentally threw away the instructions** A: Heat dry iron 5 minutes on "cotton" setting. Cut your mending fabric patch slightly larger than area to be mended. Cut corners of patch to be a bit rounded. If patch will cover a hole, place a piece of paper underneath hole before applying patch. Working on a firm, protected surface (ideally ironing board), preheat worn area with iron. {I don't really think that is needed.} Position the patch shiny side down on garment. Press firmly for 40-45 seconds with hot iron. Allow patch to cool and check whether patch is adequately adhered. Press again if needed. **Q: Will this work on a 80% cotten, 20% polyester blend?** A: That should work. I used it for some bed sheets that was a blend of synthetic and cotton. **Q: Will this work to close a hole in a lightweight comforter?** A: I've used them to repair fitted bottom sheets and top sheets. It works best if you're talking about a straight tear in the fabric.
