Halle was a strong, smart woman who was not a pushover and made the alpha work for her. Dade was a great alpha yet the author tempered his personality so he was loving and unapologetic without being an alpha-hole. Something I LOVED about this book is that it was categorized simply as a paranormal romance without the IR, BWWM codes. By not including those acronyms, it set it as a normal couple without the labels like books with white couple are and this was super refreshing. ((Spoilers)) -It would have been better if Lamar tried to kidnap Halle BEFORE she became a wolf. He was no threat to her after she became a wolf so it didn’t add any suspense or anything. -The author mentioned how Dade couldn’t get drunk. Later on at the party, she repeats this again and explains it to the reader. Nothing big, but I remember reading it and thinking “wait, didn’t she mention this already?” Apart from this, it was a great read and I look forward to reading Missy’s story. I’ll definitely check out more from this author. Review: A Really Good Story - This was the first time I've read a story by this author. I found it really good and it kept my interest. The H and h were likeable as well as the secondary characters (their relatives & pack members). The only trouble came from a pack female and the h's ex-boyfriend, who were dealt with. I really liked that this was an interracial romance, which I hadn't seen before. I didn't like that the h had to be changed into a werewolf to be with the H. I don't like it when the h has to be changed to whatever the shifter is in order to be with him (or vice versa). That's my personal preference, so I probably won't be reading anymore shifter books by this author. There was also a good amount of grammatical errors that should've been caught by the editor (including wrong verb tense & extra words used in a sentence that I had to read that sentence more than once to understand the sentence). All in all, a good story. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A Sweet Read *by N***E on September 10, 2019* I really like Thayer King's work. A whole bunch. An Autobuy for me. Her infrequent publishing breaks my bank everytime because it's always outside my book budget 😆. This book was cute. Did I fell in love the first time I read it? No. Was it my favorite King novel? No. Was it bad? No. Did I enjoy it? Most definately! It had all the elements of a Thayer King novel: heat (I love how she writes physical love), forceful hero, good heroine and easily followed storyline. It took me two readings spaced weeks apart to firmly place this novel midrange in my Thaye King novel rankings. It had a great plot, likable characters, steam, resolution and a cute happy ending. I'd recommend it to anyone interested in a possesive, sweet alpha/ kind , practical female lead and the simple yet unique storyline that brings them together. Buy It!
