It's way too big for my fan housing so I had to modify it too fit outside and next to the fan. I drilled holes in the case in order to secure it to the ceiling. The wires are too short and could be a couple of inches longer for more mounting options. The loud beeping for every button push on the remote is annoying. Tried all the fixes and still beeps. The fan speeds are way slower than before the install. The med is low. And the high is like medium. I even disconnected the light option to see if more power would be redistributed to the fan cable. Update: After experimenting with it more, I figured out that the old setting, when the pull switch broke, was left on low. I opened up the section of the fan with the pull switch, and found a way to manipulate the broken switch to be set on the high setting. Now the fan works great with the remote control settings. So make sure your fan setting is on high before installing this control kit. Also if the setting was left to the off position, then the fan will not work with the control until the setting is fixed. The black box gets hotter than I'm comfortable with. The internal design seems too cheap, and adds to my fears of it burning up. My fan pull switch chain broke off, and I was hoping this would be a better option. 3 stars because it solved my initial problem, but it's not worth the $14 I paid for it. I can't return it because I "damaged" the plastic case.
