## Description

A vacuum pump works in conjuction with a vacuum pump plate to create a partial vacuum inside a container placed open end down on the plate. More than one pump can be used on a project, either in series or in parallel. The direct drive, rotary vane vacuum pump is a positive displacement pump, and is the most commonly used vacuum pump. It has a number of vanes that are mounted to a rotor that rotates within a cavity of the pump, pumping air out of the container to create a partial vacuum. This vacuum pump comes with a 2.4" steel case vacuum gauge, 0 to -30 Hg that has been securely mounted to the unit.
