## Description

From the manufacturer

Review: i7 9700 vs i7 9700K - If you're someone that's looking for a 9th series i7 here are some differences between the cpus that might not be as obvious. i7 9700 - All core boost clock 4.4Ghz - Single core boost clock 4.7Ghz - Base core clock 3.0Ghz - 12MB Cache - TDP 65w i7 9700K (Stock) - All core boost clock 4.6Ghz - Single core boost clock 4.9Ghz - Base core clock 3.6Ghz - 12 MB Cache - TDP 95w Some things to keep in mind TDP ratings are done while the CPU is running at a sustained base clock speed, that would explain the TDP of the i7 9700K being much higher at 3.6Ghz base. This is a little misleading since clock for clock the cpus should perform the same and I feel like neither should be put under a stock intel cooler even though they might come with one. When I fit my i7 9700 the turbo power max defaulted to 65w this meant that under a 100% load the all core boost was only 3.8Ghz. The easiest way to change this is to download Intel XTU and turn up your Turbo Boost Power Max (I set mine to 150w making the CPU hit a TDP of around 100w) and now the all core boost sits at 4.4Ghz. Do this at your own risk and I beg you don’t do this if you’re using the stock cooler leave it at 65w, you have been warned. If you want to overclock you on have one choice, the i7 9700K If you’re not planning to overclock probably go for i7 9700
Review: Install latest motherboard bios - This is a good processor and for me a good upgrade however i would recommend that you check your motherboards bios prior to install i had big issues with it

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Does this come with any kind of heatsink/ fan or do you have to get one separately?**
A: It comes with a heatsink/fan combo but it's garbage. It's fine for light to moderate CPU load but with sustained load on all 8 cores at 4.5 GHz it will overload the cooler pretty quickly. It took me about 30 seconds to hit 90+C with Intel's XTU stress test.

**Q: base is 3.0 ghz, how can i utilize the advertised 4.5 ghz?**
A: The max turbo speed of a single core is 4.7GHz. The processor itself decides how fast it can safely "turbo" a single core. Keep in mind that rarely will all 8 cores be running at the "base" 3GHz speed since the cores are always dynamically throttled or sped up to give max performance while also saving as much energy as possible. If you want to actually overclock the whole processor, then you should look at the Core i7-9700K.

**Q: Does the Core i7-9700 have on board graphics? Thanks**
A: Yes it does, UHD 630 (https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark/products/191792/intel-core-i7-9700-processor-12m-cache-up-to-4-70-ghz.html)

**Q: Can ddr4-3333 memory be used with this core i7 9700? don't think the 9700 can be overclocked.**
A: I have DDR4-3200 working with it. Not overclocked.
