That's not bad, but it'd have been really nice if there were a compatibility list or dimensions listed so I'd have known it wouldn't fit ANY of my other twelve lanterns. Not anymore! This mesh quasi-globe is a functional alternative that might actually be superior to a glass glove in rough conditions. Yes, the mesh does dim the light output a bit--though not as much as you expect. On the plus side, if the lantern runs into a hard object, the mesh globe gives, not breaks. Also, you wouldn't expect it, but the mesh does provide some wind resistance so the lantern doesn't flicker if a breeze comes by.
